"music is an expression of self, but it's becoming an expression of wealth"

Chapter 9: Love and Music (Epilogue)

"Music doesn't lie. If there's something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music"
-Jimi Hendrix

Take a quick look around you. The dust is starting to settle. Modern-day music is now a force to be reckoned with.  When a big social issue needs to be changed, music is the driving force behind it. When an injustice has not been seen, music opens people’s eyes. When a story needs to be told, music sits everyone down and tells it. Needless to say a crisis has been averted. Music was heading down a long, dark, loud, and ugly tunnel, and the world can thank Joe for stopping it. Joe’s illustrious career has already spanned ten full years, and he is still on top of the musical world. He’s been all over the world, and has seen everyone and everything. He’s had countless books written about his success, an innumerable amount of newspaper and magazine write-ups, and has topped every chart there is. Joe is now known as the traveling professor of music, and there is no foreseeable end to his career.

         P
am still loves Joe the exact same way she always has. While so many things have changed for Joe over these last ten years, she has remained a constant. Joe lives and thrives on a steady diet of deep love for his wife, and he knows that he would not have been able to do anything without her. She was and still is his anchor. Joe and Pam still have their famous pillow talks where they dive into one another's brains, and Pam wonders now more than ever exactly how Joe's mind functions. After releasing four studio albums over the years, Joe has now decided to take some time off and focus on his family. He’s finally off the road now and living at home, spending every waking moment he can with his wife and kids. The after-dinner shows are still happening, just with a little bit more fanfare than what Joe is used to. His kids are finally starting to see who the real Joe is, and he has taught them well about having love and passion for life.

Joe had set a flame underneath music’s chin and played it a sweet farewell song while watching it burn. He then swept away the ashes and began to rebuild music into something beautiful. Through his lyrics and soulful guitar playing, Joe taught the entire world what the meaning of music was, and then delivered it to them. He crafted the general public’s tastes to only wanting something with meaning behind it, and that allows musicians like Joe who have a burning passion for music to become popular over other, more flashy and gimmicky artists. Joe’s concerts are an experience like no other. He finally found his lonely, quiet stage and now there are people to watch. A typical concert consists of Joe sitting on a barstool on a dark stage, explaining each song as he goes along. The crowd is treated to the sounds of his powerful guitar and his softspoken voice, as well as the pounding beats of a very talented drummer named Sean. When Joe first became famous, he placed a call to his old pal and asked him to become his drummer. Sean was hesitant at first, but a dreamer is always a dreamer. He had been waiting for this moment his whole life, and simply could not say no. The two are electric together, as they are able to musically connect their instruments on stage like nobody before them.

Who knows what the world would have been like without Joe. Perhaps the radio would simply sound like robots expressing themselves, and the only motivation for making records would be money. The simple truth is music is a gift given to humanity, and we all have to treat it as such. Music and society are directly connected to each other, as when one changes the other follows.

"The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils"
-William Shakespeare
